Typestries Sign & Digital is a sign and digital printing company Since 1996, making your business look great is what we're all about. We are a family owned company with humble beginnings in a one room rented office, preceded by various other sign and graphic projects undertaken by our founder while studying Geology at Franklin and Marshall College. Alongside his then girlfriend and now loving wife, Rick McDonough crafted the foundation for what would today become a diversified digital printing and sign production company. The dynamic pair balances family life with the diverse array of challenges and deadlines associated with the needs of our clients of today. McDonough and his crew have embraced the latest in digital sign and graphic production to ensure only high quality, quick turnaround of your digital projects. From the beginning, digital has been in the blood of Typestries. In 1996 Typestries was one of the first companies in New Jersey to offer full color digital sign printing with the Gerber Edge System. The Edge provided full color, but on a small scale. So, the team utilized tiling and paneling to push the limits of the then high tech digital printing system. As digital printing evolved into an inkjet world, so has Typestries. First employing the early model water-based wide format inkjet printers, McDonough cut his teeth into the critical areas of file preparation, color management and digital workflow. Always looking to push the technology envelope, Typestries modified an early water based inkjet printed with solvent inks and a home-made heater system to print onto untreated sign vinyl. After months of testing and parts swapping, a viable, yet painfully slow system was crafted to print signs and decals for the marine point of purchase market. Seeing the potential, McDonough began pursuing the then young market of solvent ink printers. At that point, one piece of technology existed to meet the need, The Arizona 180 digital screen press. Typestries added the Arizona 180, followed by a second press a year later. This allowed McDonough and crew to further refine the applications for digitally printed banners, signs and display graphics. Today, our early technology has been replaced with the latest in high and ultra resolution digital printers. Typestries employs multiple roll to roll and flatbed direct to board printers to produce everything from promotional banners to fence wraps to billboards to vehicle advertising to point of purchase graphics and trade show displays. As a complimet to our retail services Typestries also offers a wholesale division that serves as service bureau to national and local advertising agencies, sign companies, exhibit design firms, and trade show companies. |
